Let us help!

El Dorado Main Street has a number of programs available for our Supporters that can help either start a new business or improve a current business in the downtown district.  All these programs are based on availability and have certain requirements.  Contact the El Dorado Main Street office at (316) 452-1887 for questions or details on any of these programs.

Facade Improvement Grant:  The Facade Improvement Grant Program was established to encourage small businesses to reinvest in the downtown by providing 1 to 1 matching grants up to $2,000 to small  business owners and assist them in restoring or beautifying their exterior front facades or storefronts.

Federal, State and Historic Grants:  El Dorado Main Street is constantly searching for new Federal, State and Historical Grants that are applicable to the historical properties within Downtown Historic District. El dorado Main Street can assist property owners in the writing and/or coordinating of the application process.  Signs may also be considered.

Historic Tax Credits (HTC):  Downtown El Dorado is as a nationally designated “Historic District”. Owners whose buildings are recognized as “contributing” are eligible to receive federal and state tax credits for the preservation of their building.  Building owners who seek these tax credits must conform to the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation.  El Dorado Main Street does not administer this program but will to assist participants with any questions or professional direction.  For additional information on HTC, contact Emily Connell, Main Street Director, at (316) 452-1887.

Incentives Without Walls (IWW):  The Incentives Without Walls funding program is a 1:1 matching loan program with a zero-to-low percent interest rate.  This  loan is administered by the El Dorado Main Street organization and allows local businesses, within the Main Street District, the opportunity to borrow anywhere from $500 to $20,000 for building improvements.  To preview the IWW Application call for an appointment at (316) 321-3088.

Neighborhood Revitalization Program (NRP):  A 95%  ten year tax rebate program on the newly improved portion of property taxes.  Call Main Street for application and details at (316) 321-3088.

Promotions:  El Dorado Main Street is able to help promote your business using a variety of methods including (but not limited to) social media, and various retail incentives, as well as cooperative efforts centering on the Downtown.  Ideas?  We will work with you.

Other:  There are also a number of incentives offered by the City of El Dorado and the State of Kansas not limited  to those businesses located within the Downtown District. To review those incentives (not limited to the incentives requiring a Downtown District location) contact Linda Jolly at El Dorado Inc.  (316) 321-1485 and the El Dorado Chamber of Commerce (316) 321-3150.
